Our Mission

We Will Always Remember
The past is full of wrongs
Some in our control,
and some beyond
We try to right these,
Yet the damage is done
We say "never again"
As if it is all we can do
But there is more
Some try to forget;
To ease the pain
But no matter what
We will always remember

Each of Us Has a Name is a website devoted to preserving the memories of those who perished in the Shoah (Holocaust). It provides a weekly list of yahrzeits so that we may say Kaddish for them.

The idea for "Each of Us Has a Name" started during Yizkhor services. At one point, we paused for a prayer to remember those who perished in the Shoah.

While this collective remembrance is certainly important, it seemed insufficient. This tragedy happened to individual people, each with a name and each deserving of remembrance.

"Each of Us Has a Name" allows us to remember these people, one by one. It allows us to say Kaddish for them not only as a faceless mass but also with the dignity and individual attention that each one deserves.

We are in the building phase, and need your help. We would like to invite you to help us collect as many names of those who perished during the Holocaust as we can. You can help in two ways. First, if you know first hand of somebody, you can enter their name into our database. Alternatively, we are looking for people to do research to find the names and enter them into the database. To enter names, please visit https://eachofushasaname.org/submit.php. You will be required to sign up for a free account before you can access the submit page. We use this information to verify and validate the identity of the people providing information. We will not sell or rent your information to any third parties.
